The site is on the fringe of the village of Braemar, 1100 feet above sea level, and the eastern gateway to the Cairngorms, an ideal centre for walkers and mountain bikers (mountain bikes can be hired locally). Herds of red deer roam freely and you may also glimpse capercaillie, red squirrels and badgers, golden eagles and herons. Braemar is the scene of the annual Highland Gathering, usually attended by members of the Royal Family and held on the first Saturday in September. The site opens in December for the Winter Sports season, is purpose-built for family skiers, and is close to Glenshee (9 miles) with its snow cannons. For some spectacular scenery, take the high road to Tomintoul for a view of the countryside towards the rugged coastline and sea beyond.

Tarland by Deeside has been favoured by royalty for many years. Queen Victoria chose the area for her home at Balmoral in the 1850s and it is still a favourite with our Royal family today. Our Club Site shares the same spectacular scenery. Tarland village is a five-minute walk from Site. It has local shops, a bowling green and a golf course. It is a good starting point for walks, with lovely open views towards Mount Keen, Lochnagar and Morven.Aberdeen – the Granite City – is to the east. It has fine buildings, good shops, theatres, galleries and museums. A bus from the village goes to the city centre.Aboyne, six miles from Site, has shops and a swimming pool. The theatre is central to the Aboyne and Deeside Festival in July. The local Highland Games are held in August.Glen Tanar and Muir of Dinnet are two superb local nature reserves. The fairytale Craigievar Castle is pinkish in colour and on Scotland’s Castle Trail. The Grampian Transport Museum at Alford traces the history of travel in the Grampian District. It includes a 1914 steam wagon. There are many routes for walkers and cyclists. TrailQuest at Kirkhill Forest is a good family bike trail. The Royal Deeside Line’s railway station is now a Visitor Centre, situated next to Crathes Castle, while the line is being restored. The Queen’s summer residence is at Balmoral. The estate grounds, gardens and the Castle Ballroom are open to visitors during the summer. The River Dee is one of the great Scottish salmon rivers.

The small intimate Caravan Park is a fine base to explore the East Coast of Scotland or the glens of Angus. Glamis Castle, childhood home of the late Queen Mother, is nearby, as well as other National Trust for Scotland properties. The Caravan Park has easy access from the main A90 Dundee - Aberdeen trunk road and is, therefore, ideally situated for a touring stopover. You are greeted by the large white farm building with its historic mill where, in the past, 2 horses powered the thrashing machinery. It is now our Coffee Mill Cafe and Restaurant where you can enjoy a daytime lunch or an evening meal ( Friday, Saturday and Sundays only) or, of course, just a cup of tea or coffee with home made cakes or bakes. Our traditional Scottish "High Teas" are very popular and great value - but do book your reservation first! The Caravan Park is open to caravans, motor homes and tents from the end of March to the end of October. It is spacious and considered quiet (except for some road noise) and in the last 2 years has been upgraded and improved. As well as the showers and toilets in the main building, there is a recently constructed new toilet/shower block in the park. The site is split into two fields, both generally level. The main field has a choice of level hardstanding pitches or grass pitches with plenty of space for recreation as well as an adjoining play area for the children. The second field also has serviced seasonal pitches on hard standings as well as a caravan storage area. The site is split into two fields, both generally level. Invercaimbe Croft and Caravan Site
A true West Highland working croft holiday destination where we breed traditional Highland Cattle and Highland Ponies on a beachfront location overlooking the Small Isles with moorings for boats.

We are located just about 1.5 miles North of Arisaig on the old coastal road to Mallaig at the start of the famous white sandy beaches that are more often associated with the White Sands of Morar but start here at Bunacaimb, which is an old fashioned crofting township.

It is possible to fish on the Caimbe Burn (small river) which flows through the croft and there is lots of rare wildlife, flora and fauna to be seen. We are very environmentally sensitive and the croft is entered in the Rural Stewardship Scheme designed to encourage biodiversity and this can be evidenced by the amount of birds and other species that can be seen at The Caimbe, including a wide variety of waders at low tide and inshore sea birds when the tide is full.

You can take a cable car to the upper terminal (2,300ft) of the Aonach Mor Mountain, for fabulous views of the whole mountain range, the Great Glen and the islands of Skye and Rhum, and take a guided mountain walk if you wish. On another day, visit Glencoe - you'll find it eery and exciting and everyone should know the story behind the famous Massacre, still legendary after three centuries.
