Cool

I think it depends on how wide the caravan is and how wide the tow car is,some tow cars are wider than the caravan which would allow the driver to see the rear corner's of the caravan being towed

last year we had 3 holidays in yorkshire and i would say about 1 in 5 caravans we saw did not have towing mirrors and every 4+4 did not have any . i dont know if there is a different law for 4+4s but i was also under the impression that it was against the law not to have and use towing mirrors.

Bob

Are there any caravans that are narrower than the towcar? Doubtful!

The regulations require a view 4 metres to each side at a point 20 metres behind the rearmost part of the caravan which is unlikely to be achieved with the car's mirrors when towing a caravan.

Amused

Only got to watch national TV.
The Paul Merton programme shows him towing a Swift with a Discovery and no extension mirrors on it. I raised this on Swift's website and the response was they assumed that he would have brought his own!
Given the amount of time and grief I go through to get my mirrors right - it annoys me royally to see other outfits with no mirrors.
P.S. The first person to invent remotely adjustable extension mirrors can name his price as far as I am concerned!

Cheers

Keith

That is why I use suck it and see mirrors from Pyramid, they fix onto the car mirror glass and are adjustable using the cars mirror adjustment. I previously had the Milenco Grand Aero's.

when i put mine on the car mirrors end up flat alongside the door so i have to keep opening the window and pushing them back out into place .

Keith I can assure you Paul Merton did not tow a caravan on the road at all.

Happy

Does this really suprise anyone that drives on a regular basis. The number of drivers out there that seldom use their mirrors is frightening.
