3 more soldiers lost to war

Yes we have lost 3 NZ Army soldiers on Sunday in Afghanistan. to an IED device the took out an armoured vehicle killing all 3 on board instantly .
5 in 2 weeks and all from the same small group of service personnel.

Added to this shocking news we loose our first female solider ( medic ) since Vietnam.

Not good but sadly as you folk know only too well it is a fact of life for all involved in trying to correct things over there. Our forces are due to pull out next year when our work and joint agreement is completed.

War is terrible especially a war where the enemy is unseen. During our war we had many casualties including civilians and just about every one living in the country was touched by the death of a relative or a friend.

My son has just got out of the British Army and despite the struggles in Civvie street i'm not sorry. Rather support him financially than have him a statistic

Yes I can understand your thinking. We all need our forces and they do a excellent job across many aspects of society but if we had a choice there would be no war.

Ian as you rightly say the effect spreads far and wide across many families.

Today our fallen soldiers arrived home in Christchurch. Only 2 weeks since our last two so sadly it seams like a reply. Planning for their military service Saturday.

This is not what we in NZ are finding a normal part of life but our forces and families are due to correct respect and appreciation we can give them.

Let us hope there are no more sad times over the next few months when all our staff may be home . Yes until another event takes hold.

RIP. no small sacrifice. My thoughts and prayers are with their fellow soldiers and families.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
