Sign of the times?

Asda opened up a huge new store in Birkenhead on Tuesday, I was down town on my motorbike so decided to call in to have a quick nose as I wanted a couple of bits a pieces.

The place was heaving, you could hardly get round the aisles, and as they didn't have what I wanted anyway I decided to go to our local Asda instead.

Outside there was a steel drum band and an 8ft tall white scarey fairy I bet there were lots of scared kids there then

I've just been told by our local Asda that hundreds of police and all the security guards from the town had to be sent to the new store as literally hundreds of people were filling their trolleys and walking out without paying Hopefully there were plenty of arrests there that night!!!

Seems a shame when somewhere like Asda builds such a fantastic store for the local community and this happens.

Its true, you only need to leave something out and it'll be gone pretty soon! Put something down; someone will come and pick it up and walk away with it!
I leave peanuts and suet blocks for the birds and by the next day theyre gone!

We had a new ASDA open in the next day and decided to try it out. We found it to be more expensive than our local Morrisons or Tescos on a number of items.
One thing that we did notice is that they had lots of specials, i.e. 2 for the price of one, but the items were smaller than normal. For example 2 bottles of what looked like 2 litre Coca cola bottles, but were in fact 1.5 litre bottles. Cheaper to buy two 2 litre bottles.
There were other items like this and it seems that ASDA go out of their way to mislead people or maybe it is just me that thinks this. We ended up only buying a few things and then went over to Morrisons to finish our shopping.

Why do people think they can just take things, we all end up paying for them.

Same with car insurance all our premiums are loaded to cover them.........

More likely that the store was built in that location to provide Asda with as much chance as possible of increasding and maximising profits and I dont condem them for that ....... they are in business to make money after all.

All this guff that supermarkets come out with about how much they care for their customers ..... yeh right, its the customers cash that they care about .

I agree, but they fell flat on their faces this time There isn't a big store like that in the centre of Birkenhead, and the way things are going, there may not be again shortly ..............
