Stolen caravan

Between Xmas and New Year it would seem, my daughter’s caravan was stolen from storage. She was advised of this on 10th January by the site owner who we think had been away. There is absolutely nil chance of recovery now but there is a message I thought I would pass on.

It is realised now that it’s stupid but hey, horse, bolted and stable come to mind. The insurance claim has been made difficult because all the ownership documentation was in the caravan. The majority of the documentation has been recovered by contacting the supplying businesses (bouquet to White Arches Caravan who responded on a Saturday to provide a copy by Monday).

So in case anyone is as stupid as we are and my daughter is, keep your ownership evidence separate to the caravan. Thought our purchase invoice and CRIS documents are at home, I have removed many invoices/receipts from our caravan now.

Bad news. Hope daughter does not drive the car with all the documentation in it?

Yeehaw

So sorry to hear of the loss. Easy mistake to make. Call me cautious, but the only paperworks we keep in the caravan are all the manuals etc for the equipment and the radio. also the only paperwork in the car is the owners manual.

Horse stable etc - wisdom after the event! Take care.

Update: CAMC’s insurance has made a reasonable offer just a bit of minor quibbling on the figure.
A new 2019 model Challenger has been located and deposit paid. Unfortunately it’s half the country away. Details to sort out with salesman at the NEC on Friday.
No Al-Ko ATC fitted, do is that worth £6-700? I suggest Tyron Bands better value. The ATC can aid poor loading, excessive speed, poor mismatch, all of which are within your control?? The tyres can get a puncture anywhere with all the above sorted.
Just my view

Fine

Good news. Just need the winds to drop, to fetch it.
