The bathroom tap

Hi All,

So finally the first weekend of the season, the weekend were we find out what has broken over the winter, there is always something.

Actually all seamed to be ok, the micro switch had gone in the bathroom tap just before the end of last season so I knew the bathroom tap was to be left alone.

Anyway, I went in the cupboard under the bathroom sink and it was wet through, figured it was way too damp to be from the wet weather so I knew something was wrong.

In the end I ran the kitchen tap and found water squirting out of the top of the bathroom tap and running down the side and sure enough into the cupboard underneath.

So my question is, what could be causing this, do I need to strip out the bathroom taps, I am wondering if there is a leak somewhere.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Other than a tap that squirts water out of the top, I just had the usual green caravan that should be cream lol.

Cheers

John

Hi John
Sounds like the tap may be frost damaged and cracked
Did you drain down all the cold water system for winter ?

re the micro switches , its better to convert the domestic water system to a pressuure system this will do away with futher mico switch proplems

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply dude, yes I drained her down, but it has been really cold this year so that would make sense.

It is a Abbey 2000 Vogue, 2 berth. any idea's on how to remove the taps so I can get replacements.

Thanks again.

Fine

Hi John
A photo showing make of tap, would be good. I had a Whale tap that was frost damaged, (thought I had drained down) and the only solution was to replace it.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response dude, yeah it's going to be a few weeks before I go back to the van but I will pack a tool kit and take it with me, there are plenty of caravan spares places around Scarborough so picking up a replacement will not be an issue.

Thanks again for the help.
