Question Alko ATC Problem.

Has anyone had problems with the Alko ATC on their van?

I hitched ours up a fortnight ago for a trip away, and when I connected the electrics to the car, nothing happened, no ATC light lit up and there was no noise of the motor engaging!

Caravan is now back at the dealers for investigation. Prior to that we connected the car up to another van at the dealers and the ATC engaged immediately, so the dealer ruled out the car.
He's now contacted me and said the caravans tested ok and the ATC is now working. He's asked me to get the car electrics checked, which I am doing this week, but then why would it work with another van???

Anyone else had any power supply problems?

Cheers
Al.

Hi to answer you no I have not. Like you I too would rule out the car given it functioned ok on the other van unless the car fault is intermittent. Possible?

If you have trouble again I would disconnect and reconnect maybe a few times and if intermittent car fault that may show up.

However I think a simple test probe on the appropriate terminal should clearly confirm the car power feed is functioning well.

From what you say I would suggest there's an intermittent contact either in the car's socket or the caravan's plug.

Not a very bright dealer if they ruled out the car after that test. Do you really trust them to do a service on your caravan?
