The dreaded virus

So, what, if any, effect is this having on the caravanning? For us, it is a disappointing decision to abandon plans to take our forst trip of the year next month.

One could think that this is a knee jerk reaction, and that we should stay calm and carry on. But it was a plan for just three nights, giving us basically only two full days to do what we wanted. This was to be an outing to Poole on the first day, including a nice bit of retail therapy in our fave Dolphin Centre, and on the second day a trip to one of the many places of interest nearby. But - we are in the worst age bracket, ie in our eighties, so we are not keen to place ourselves in harm's way. Given that there will not be much chance of beach weather, we may as well have planned to stay in the caravan outside the house. So hoping that this darned thing passes over soon, at least in time for us to get away some time this year.

Pete.

We are away next week for a couple of days however we have booked some rallies so may be cancelling them. Rather safe than sorry!

We are away for first time in 2020. Outside away from crowds, gotta be OK. 4 nights at a CL 20 miles from home.

Comments gratefully noted! The way things are going, we feel that we made the right decision, especially as we are in our eighties. While we are quite healthy with no underlying problems, we didn't want to push it and now we are staying in as much as possible and taking precautions with hygiene.

We are booked onto a C&CC site, but are now thinking that a CL may be a better idea. I am not sure if you can amend a C&CC booking as the website is difficult to navigate around. We have already paid a £25 deposit.

The Irish pre National and National rallies have been cancelled.

We are in Spain at the moment and a lot of festivals have been cancelled.

Fine

I booked a cottage just above Betws-y-Coed for a week, thinking of cancelling, but it is remote and am in two minds whether too or not, playing it by ear at the moment.
