I know mate, thanks; i was getting carried away with my maths there!

They dropped the big bags didnt they? to the half size bags, lighter than the big ones, but still pretty solid! I've seen some guys in the building trade struggle with THOSE!

Cynical

We had part of our drive done to take the caravan and the builder used scalpings. Not sure what this is but apparently they use it under the roads.
The scalpings were laid and rolled out and then the cotswold stone layed on the top and levelled. This has proved very good. The van hasn't sunk and there is not a weed in sight.

Shocked

OH NO! I've run out of ballast!
Now, I don't think that the calculators that I used were wrong (on cement web sites) so I thinks that the jumbo bag wasn't quite as jumbo as it should have been!
I'll pop out in the morning and get some single bags just to finish off, should only be 6 -8 bags.
Job done! I've just got to shift 3 ton of pea shingle from the rear garden to the front as we are also having artificial grass laid over the weekend.
No more grass cutting for me

If you Google CONCRETE CALCULATOR That will give you the amount of ballast and cement you need to complete the work.
