Van reupholstered

We took the plunge and got our caravan reupholstered last week, we tried a local guy but he made such a mess of it - I could have done better myself.

We found a firm called CareAvan in Birmingham and phoned them, they could not have been more helpful. The upshot was we drove the 200 miles each way to Birmingham and they gave us a hookup in their yard. We arrived on the Monday and chose our fabric. We then had some nice days out sleeping in the van and come Friday morning they told us we could not go into the van until they told us. Friday evening after a very pleasant day at Cadbury World we were asked to come to the van, well I cried, it was so beautiful and so well done. Nothing was too much trouble and the work first rate, the price extremely good. We are delighted and cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone else thinking of doing the same.

We drove down to Cheltenham for a rally and everyone who came into our van to have a look loved it.

It's nice to hear positive feedback about a company for a change. Do they have a web site?

Can I ask how much it cost?
Everyone will wonder but I will be cheeky and ask.

And yes please some photographs.

That sounds a fantastic price before we even see the photographs which I am looking forward to. If my wife had still been here she would be urging me now to get ours done.
With a JRT that charges around jumping onto everything I might have reservations.

Fine

When we got our Abbey, there were a couple of cushions missing; i wanted to replace them, ideally with the same fabric; i contacted Swift Group who gave me the name of the company they use. I contacted them, and they sold me a few metres. We had foam cut to size and my wife made the covers; great!
To buy foam cut to size, and make the covers ourselves cost about £40; to have had original replacements made would have cost us in excess of £1000. Yes £1000; for two cushions!
DIY is a great thing!

Thanks for the video and photos Glenkeller, the van really looks the dogs thingys now. very smart. I think the price is good. Did you change the carpet or was that in the price. (cheeky). Did you stay overnight in their yard and did you have use of their toilet facilities. Sorry to ask its just that I want to get ours done and what you have had done is great and a good way to get it done.
