Purchased two bottles of toilet chemical whilst on a huge price reduction. I will need a replacement during our next trip and given we enjoy back road trips not easy to purchase some times.

I have the leisure battery in the shed. Been in there since we covered the caravan up. Checked this morning and voltage sitting nicely at 12.7V. Connected the trickle charger for now to keep it up for the few weeks until we go out for the first trip of the year.

LOL Dam-it can't even blame predictive text, it's not on this PC LOL

Mind you, come to think about it, the blow air outlets warm the lower regions first.

Lifted the cover a bit to check on the tyre size - need new ones before we tow this year. Did some checking on the 'net and it seems that there may be problems sourcing the right size and load index - mine are 195/70 - R14, LI N. (96) Some reviewers say that this size and LI combination is almost impossible to obtain. As yet I have not contacted any companies, but have done a check with some of the main suppliers (eg Mytyres etc) and some show not available at this time, for instance GT Kargomax ST6000.

What tyre makes do most of you use?

TIA

Pete

Took the cover off the caravan. Gonna wash it when the temperature rises a bit, too cold out there just now.

Nice and fresh in there, checked all over - no damp anywhere. Just need to get a new pair of tyres on it before we tow this year. (also a full set of tyres for the summer wheels; the winter wheels and tyres are still on. Glad they were recently and yesterday!)

Cheerful

Today I moved the van out of its carport and washed it. Found a crack in the sealant where the two parts of the GRP roof panels meet. I’ve ordered some Soudan RV61 as recommended by my trusted mobile caravan service guy.

Cheerful

Good Friday: scrapped out the old filler from the roof joint and resealed it. Then off to meet up with some friends in a field.

Saturday: wet and muddy and, being first time off grid for ages, the 5 year old battery cried enough. Down to 10.5V by the morning. It recovered to 12.5V with a bit of help from the PV panel on the roof, but run the water pump and back to 10V. Being away from home and normal known battery suppliers, did a click and collect at nearest Halfords for a 115Ah battery. Drove 19 miles each way and of course it’s physically bigger than the old Numax CXV one. It just fitted but the extra yard of connecting cable wouldn’t let the door shut. Cut off offending cable and wrestled with the heavy duty motor mover cable which, in these temperatures is as flexible as a metal rod!!
All put back in, strap replaced and door shut. Now at 13V with 3.5A from the PV panel.

Happy days!!
