Reason for smugness - 24 hours cigarette free.

If you can go a full day then you can go two days.
If you can go two days then you can go a week.
If you can go a week then you have kicked it.

Just stay positive and as already said think of the money. It is over 20 years since I stopped and I was doing between 40 and 60 a day.

I haven't been snappy at all, well no more than usual. Strangely enough when I've tried to give up in the past, it's been in the back of my mind when I could have my next cigarette and the thought of never having one again made me panicky. I'm not saying I'll never fall off the wagon but I'm holding on for grim death. When I succeed I have promised myself a little treat with the money saved.

To be truthful I have stopped once before and then started again.
With the money that I saved I bought a sea fishing boat with forward cabin (new) and powered by a 40HP outboard. I called the boat "Cignet" (spelling error intended but for obvious reason)
Makes you realise just how much gets spent on fags when you can do that over a 3 year period.
It was a terrible mistake to start again having paid for the boat. I took out a loan for it and the only way I could repay the loan was to stop smoking. I had no choice but to stop.

Have something in mind to spend the money on that you saved.
