We have just driven past our local Land Rover garage and noticed they went bust on the 26th February... we noticed there was only two cars on the forecourt a couple of weeks ago... sign of the times i guess.

Yeh you are right matthew
The problem doesn't end there as they might have owed money to suppliers for different things, Which means that not only are they not going to get there money but they have 1 less customer to supply. The the supplier needs less goods and so on.

Not only that the Banks pull the debt in and companys are unable to get loans to carry the business on, there are loads of companies near where I work where the receiver has walked in.

The banks are the guilty party not the companies going to the wall.

both of you are sooo right, dad worked for a suplying company once and they had to tightne there belts, they didnt go bust but everything has a knock on effect. Lets hope this recession is over soon, we have been through once already....

You are spot on, now lets get really political about this.
Think about this,
1. The government are bailing the banks out because they want them to lend money.
2. Person goes into bank buy a new car, caravan, house, etc
3. Will the bank lend the money to someone, when nobody knows if their job is secure.
4. So the banks may think twice about lending the money.
Back to square one.

Too true another vicious circle... i think everyone is stuck with what they have right now as there isnt a lot of chance getting a loan/mortgage etc in this climate. Heres a way of putting it.... "Everyone has been playing a game of dice with cars in the past, and now people dont have the money to throw the dice!!"

It's right Matty this recession is the worst I've seen manufacturing is suffering a massive blow in my house we are about £140 a week down that's less spending to be done which hits the shops etc all down the line.

Hard times everywhere.
