Well the trip went well without problems.
Avondale Dart 630/6 The journey there was a bit tricky i dont have a nose weight gauge so i was guessing, but it did seem to follow well until there was a bit of a crosswind or an overtaking van/lorry then it did give a wiggle which was un-nerving, the journey back was better as we took the 2x6kg propane cylinders out of the locker which is at the very back and put them inside the van at the front, the porch awning and the camp chairs were in the locker under the bunks just behind the axle, the noseweight seemed heavy enough without moving them so i left them there, next time i think everything will be above the axles as i could not lift the hitch manualy either before or after moving stuff around. I will also be getting the correct alko ball for the car as this may make a difference. The suprising thing was how the hot water gave us enough time to shower 2 kids then dress them for bed and then hot enough for 1 adult to shower again, then we had to fill the roll again. The double shower in the Dart is great, enough room for 2 kids (3yrs and 4yrs) and 1 adult assisting. Sunncamp 390 Porch Awning Once the bag was open and we were faced with all the poles and peggs we had visions of us spending the next few hours battling with the size of it, but we were supprised how easy it was even in a light breeze, The ground was a little hard and we didnt have a mallet so pegging was difficult, we did have 2 spare poles that we could not see where they were supposed to be, all other poles were in place going by the instructions?? overall a good size and it took 30 mins which isnt bad for a 1st time. 8) York Caravan Park Very friendly and chatty, access is good although if you follow the sat nav to the postcode it tries taking you left into a farm when you actually need to carry on for another 50 meters and turn right. Pitches are a good size with or without hardstanding and easy to manover into. facilities are good and very clean with heating in the block and auto lights. there were a few light aircraft (may have been military turboprop trainers) buzzing around till approx 11pm but it wasnt enought to disturb us. Overall a good trip and we feel that our main hols wont be a problem after this little tester. ![]() Just to add we went to Flying Ledgend pub for tea, its on clifton moor near the big tescos and the food was very good, a mixed grill, lasagne and 2 kids meals along with 4 drinks was just over £25. A few pics. Arriving ![]() Pitched ![]() ![]() And what did the Kids think of their little holiday?? ![]() ![]()

we have noticed that Avondale make a heavy nose weight van so we have to put more at the back to get the nose weight right have fun and we can compare vans one day. ![]()

Ady great to hear that the caravan lives up to your expectations and that York Caravan Park is nice too. Also good to hear erecting the new awning was fine too, the outfit looks spot on mate!! Thanks for sharing the pcitures with us. Happy Caravanning.
