Make a choice:- Safety or Privacy?

I see on the news this morning that two MP's are trying to reduce the ease with which the security services can access your telephone conversations and internet activity claiming that it is an infringement of your right to a private family life.

Make your choice with a reason:- Safety or Privacy?

Jim

Chances of them even wanting to listen in to my boring conversations, email exchanges or etc. - NIL, so I go with Safety.

I also opt for safety and don't mind if they listen in to all my telephone calls and read all my txt messages and posts. Nothing to hide so nothing to lose. I wonder if those that bleat about invasion of privacy would do so if one of their family was saved from a terrorist bomb due to an overheard conversation? We are of course the most watched country on earth with more CCTV cameras per head of population than any other country. Once again if you have nothing to hide why mind being watched?

I would opt for safety also, I have nothing to hide. Most people have nothing to hide.
There are too many conspiracy theories about life's too short.

Fine

I dont see we have much choice really, because they will do what they want, whether the people agree or not, they probably keep tabs on us all the time anyway. Thats what GHQ is all about. Big brother is watching us.
I say security and safety, but i know we will not get our choice in the end anyway. Its not a conspiracy theory, its how it is. Things like, if you dial 112 the emergency services can find where you are, must be a satellite number or something. For the same reason that people up to no good, have numerous mobile phones, and only use a certain phone to contact certain people. Mobile signals can be tracked even if you have it on, but not making or receiving calls.
1984, wasn't happening because we weren't technologically advanced enough; now we supposedly have the the "world at our finger tips"; so do the security services, have our world at their fingertips!

Prefer safety as we have nothing to hide.

Safety for me too. Perhaps those that are for privacy should be investigated immediately
