Yeehaw

Absolutely. Many years ago I used to get moaned at for bending over backwards to help our customers, now many garages offer loan cars as routine - in the 70s & 80s it was almost unheard of. I used to collect cars & return them and it cost me nothing though admitted it was for customers living fairly near; if in walking distance no probs - if not, I would leave my company demo at their address and we would transfer their insurance in advance.
So easy - happy customers come back!!

Cheeky

We (meaning wife and I) have had 5 Vauxhall Astra diesels over the last 12 years and none have had any problems with springs despite Darwen having some of the worst potholed roads.

Cheerful

I still have Vectra Year 2000 (w), currently 96k mileage, and everything are original apart from brake discs, battery and steering rack.(also CV joint) , of course tyres. I still think its a good car, I had it since 30k mileage 5 years ago, I would love to buy Insigna estate soon. I had many vauxhalls in the past... Nova, Astra II and III, Carlton (Best car ever done 200K mileage - rear gas suspension replacement at 150K mileage), Corsa MK1.

What make car a good? get it service regularly... Car do have feeling so look after it (him/her whatever you like to call it!)

vectra springs

having had vectras since they 1st were produced, i have covered countless miles without any problems whatsoever. i have often wondered what damage is done by the traffic calming measures we have to endure, but hopefully nothing has transpired with mine. my current car is a 2008 vectra , but after this post i will be giving it some close attention.

Fine

I also had a broken nearside rear spring, this was picked up on the MOT, last bit of the last coil snapped, springs replaced as a pair, same day, must have towed in this condition. Car showed no sign of sagging or poor handling. Poor road conditions blamed.
