Putting in the receiver is not a certainty that the company will not survive. It may be possible for someone to buy it before it is closed down. Such a shame as they produce some good quality vans with very different designs. Let's keep our fingers crossed!!!

Who are they kidding  CHEAP  these people are living in cloud cuckoo land .

By the time you have purchased the caravan and the accessory's then paid the site fees sometimes £35 per night it isn't cheap at all.
Have you been on a package holiday or stayed in a hotel lately?
At least you still have you asset after your holiday. It may be losing money as we speak but so is everything else including cars and houses!

I agree. Where can you get two weeks away in Devon for less than £400 for a family of 5? The initial outlay can be expensive but once you have everything costs are minimal. You do not have to pay £35 pn, you can adjust your costs to suit your budget.

A travel journalist was on TV the other morning giving details of package holidays. He thought £600 or £800 per person was very reasonable. Don't know about you guys but £3000 or £4000 before spending money is not what I would consider good value.

Such a shame to see yet another victim of the credit crunch.

These "spivs" that run our banks and financial services sector have a hell of a lot to answer for!

Cheerful

Now we have retired we are planning on taking a few non-caravanning trips. First of these is a coastal trip in Norway next month, a week for two inc flights, accomodation, insurance is £3500!!!!!!!!
Admittedly we have pushed the cost up with upgraded cabins on te ship and extra costs to avoid Heathrow but this is more than we have EVER spent on any caravan holiday.

I wonder if the "cheap holiday" comment stems from folks buying older s/h vans in the way some folks on here have done.

I'm not so sure it is a victim of that.

Adria bought Fleetwood as a good foot in the UK door, they now have that and the down turn is the perfect way to mask the plan of selling them down the river.

More a victim of astute business practice that will see much of the UK's leisure business owned by someone else from Europe in the next few years

Mark my words.

Has Coachman re-opened from their extended Christmas shutdown yet?
