Sad but maybe not too unexpected. Who'll be next? I can see only the big three remaining soon.

ref the management buy out early last year

Sad to hear of another caravan manufacturer going to the wall. Soon your only choice will be take it or leave it.

I am not surprised that Baileys are so popular, not only for price but for weight. Maybe the remaining makers will take note that many people don't want a 4x4 or people carrier and make vans that a normal family car can pull. Our 4 berth Elddis has a MTPLM of 1200 kgs but has all the equipment we need.

As the saying goes "Another Bites The Dust" its a real shame as i have always admired the quality of Fleetwoods vans and the sheer style that they have. Unfortinatley its how its all going......

Matthew

Sad news indeed.

Lets hope a buyer can be found for them.

Were they connected to Adria at some time ??

Cool

Apparently Adria will continue to run from the Long Melford address. There are still some Fleetowod vans being built but only a few twin Axle's and then thats it for British built Fleetwood caravans.
Also Adria intend to build the same style van at their Slovinia factory so you may still see some new Fleetwoods but not made in England....

I often read in the papers that people are flocking to caravans for a cheap way of getting a family holiday.

Who are they kidding  CHEAP  these people are living in cloud cuckoo land .

By the time you have purchased the caravan and the accessory's then paid the site fees sometimes £35 per night it isn't cheap at all.
