thats main dealers for you, i took my Chrysler into out local Merc shop to price up a new clutch, £750!! not really bad i thought so i said, can you quote for a new main shaft oil seal while your in there as it has a small leak, (they would strip it down to the flywheel) oh ok he says and pops the tag of £875 off the pc.
ALTOGETHER? i cried gleefully. oh no mate thats just the oil seal,,,,,

when i queried his maths he explained that it would go in and have the clutch done first and then another 'mechanic' would go back in to do the seal?? Really??

little bloke round T' corner picked up the car, fitted genuine parts returned it and charged me £350 for my troubles,,,, now thats service

That,s bizarre one 'mechanic' seems they can only do certain jobs if another has to finish off would never make Wheeler Dealers
