A382 road across Dartmoor

Hi can anybody help me? i am shortly having a weeks stay at the C/C Stover site, near Newton Abbot and then moving onto Camleford C/C site in Cornwall, has anyone used the A382 road towing a van this route seems quicker than going back to the A30, thenup the step hill near Exeter Racecourse, i have tried to google it and it appears to get quite narrow around Mortonhampstead and would appreciate any advice or experiences using this road, many thanks. often log in to this site and am very interested to read other peoples remarks and views

Hi
I've never driven on the A381. I would take a drive, solo, whilst you are staying on your first site, give you an idea. I do know that the A379 near Kingsbridge can get very narrow in places.

Perhaps somebody who knows the A 382 road will post shortly saving the OP a 30+ miles expeditionary trip.

Cheerful

It is a very narrow road with lots of bends, if you are feeling adventurous it should be ok - personally I would not tow on that road
