The 1st of winter tomorrow
Its the 1st of winter tomorrow and the temps are down, only up to 21over the weekend, laugh as you may, but parts of Qld had frosts and -4 the other night.

Brrrr -4 in your types of houses sounds pretty horrendous! Still can warm up outside during the day with 21 degrees! Better light the BBQ to keep you warm
 I know many Kiwi houses are often said to be warmer outside than in, especially the old villas!

Depends on where you are in the UK I would say. Usually in the SE we would have daytime January temps of maybe 5-9 degrees on average, but in Highland s of Scotland I would suggesta 3 or 4 degre colder on average at least. nice days can easily get into double figures even in colder months
Nightime temps even here in SE regularly go freezing and below during winter but probably not an average as such. Rural areas always see much lower temps (which is probably more what the -4 in parts of Queensland is about I would guess)
