The site we are currently on has those push in button showers didn't I see a gadget you can use to keep them on instead of pressing the button all the time ??

Look up shower friend. Not used one but available on ebay £12.99 but probably cheaper if you hunt round. Brian

I don't mind them if the shower lasts a minute or two however the ones were you have to keep pressing the button as it only lasts a few seconds are very annoying.

They work on the same principle as many of the push-buttons used in flats, for stair lighting switches, to prevent the lights being left on. They are pneumatic. You push the button in which expels the air, holds the button in/on against a spring, then an adjustable bleed hole allows air back in slowly. A grub screw adjusts the air bleed and the on time. Problem is they are quick tricky to set, vary with temperature and over time wear, so switch off sooner.

More modern systems (at least on stair lighting), is to use electronic timer systems with buttons, or PIR/occupancy sensors.
