Fire Destroys 11 Tourers

A fire destroyed 11 caravans and one mobile home at a dealership near Kidderminster. This perhaps highlights how devastating caravan fires can be and how quickly they can spread.

Have you taken all the precautions you need to in the event of a fire? Caravan Owners club have put together some advice for owners, so you can make sure you would know what to do in the event of a fire.

Fortunately no-one was hurt in the fire, but firefighters from the Hertfordshire and Worcestershire fire and Rescue Service spent over two hours tackling the blaze, which took place at Kidderminster Caravans, Crossway Green on the A449 Worcester to Kidderminster road.

Four crews attended the scene just after 1am, Saturday 5 October. An investigation is underway to find out how the fire was started.

Although, devastating for a business owner, it is lucky that no-one was hurt. The causes of fires in caravans this year have included those from appliances. An investigation into the tragic death of 26 year old Victoria Syme who died from a fire in January this year found the cause was a halogen heater which caught fire to her clothes.

Hertfordshire is a long way from Worcestershire so very unlikely they would attend as Herefordshire fire brigade is closer. The fire does not surprise me as probably a dis-grunted customer as you should see the state of some of the caravans.
Is it against forum rules to mention that next door is a travellers site and guess who owns the dealership.

It would be a very foolish person to buy it even if they were not going to sell caravans from the site. Have a look using Google Earth and you will notice a caravan park at the rear. Look up reviews on that park.
