??????? Why do people want to count the number of nights they have been away? Surely you go to enjoy yourself whether it is one or many nights and not count the nights or keep records? Sad!

Hello Ian , Well I have to put my hand up as being one of the sad members LOL counting nights away. Never used to do that but when we took delivery of the new van I did take up the idea from another member and I note the date and location of each camp. It is an interest for me to one day look back on.

You are correct however the purpose of the camp is for pleasure and enjoyment first and foremost which all of ours are.

You're right RJ. It is of interest to look back on. I've been keeping a caravanning log for more than fifty years - first in a written book but now on the computer, and I often scroll through it. My running totals at the moment stand at 2346 nights away and 137,655 towed miles.

Were I to add my nights away for this year, then it would be 28 as I've been in Spain since beginning of November.

I do it so I can look back at where I have been and which venues I have used over the years.

Currently at 95570 miles and 2466 nights in 37 years of caravanning, so not as far as JD but more nights.

Never saw the purpose of keeping a log of locations visited with the caravan as we just go to relax and enjoy ourselves, however I do keep logs of fuel and mileage on both our vehicles.
